He happens to play WoW, so we alternated playing every two hours. I took full advantage of this. Xelare started on friday at level 30. I went to STV for the first time and grinded like a maniac to 32. This also worked up my skinning-- which in turn made me some spare gold. A group in my guild asked if anyone wanted to tag along to SM. I was 2 levels low (give or take) but I asked. Hesistantly, they took me to the library. We cleared all the way up to doan with no problems. We get to doan and get him to about 1/3 health. Then all of a sudden, he lets off his AoE fire move. I'm dead. Having learned from past experiences, I didn't release 'til they downed and looted him. Illusionary Rod and Mantle of Doan both dropped. I needed and won both. I can't wear the mantle for a level and the rod for two, but at least it'll be an upgrade from my emberstone staff. Now: Ghosts of Ironforge was fairly large, with 100 people or so. We've merged with another guild about the same size to make KOH (Knights of Honor, as far as I know. All I can confirm is that the tag says KOH). We now have about 60 level 60s and 200 some people. Very nice. I'm gonna try to hit 34 this weekend. I'll be sure to post a screenshot of me with my mantle and rod. ^_^

What The Pod People Raid Felt Like...

A Lot to Report

5.07.06

There's a lot of... junk... that's happened with me lately in WoW-- mainly on the horde side. First is the state of the guild. Asros has decided to go to "Unholy Aura" to experience the end-game raiding aspect of the game. His leaving the pod people has left everything a mess. The officers have more than they can handle and many other people are starting to reconsider the future of the guild. I, for one, respect his decision-- but I don't appreciate his abruptness. I've heard what appears to be both sides of the stories, and I fear that a "he dunnit" war is approaching. I am staying in The Pod People (like I have a choice at level 14). Secondly: The Pod People had a guild event this last weekend! It was good timing, as we needed something to come together more in light of recent events. We had a scavenger hunt and then the afterparty eventually turned into a 40 main raid. We partied in TB for a while then we all simultaneuously took a gryph to the crossroads. After that, we ran to ashenvale and pillaged and plundered. As soon as the gryphon master would die, we'd down it within 10 seconds. =D Then we WERE going to try our hand at Auberdine (and many people said we easily could've), but people were growing tired and we had many low levels. So, to end the night, we all hearthed at exactly the same time (making the server cry again) and called it a night. That's what's been happening on the Horde side. What about the alliance? Nothing. I was having so much fun on Aheina, that I neglected to level my priest. Oh well... I'll get around to it. The pictures are in descending order: Gryph to XR; Gathering Up; Hearthing Out

WoW Slows Down...

4.30.06

Well, not much to report about this weekend. As you need more XP the higher level you go, I'm technically not halfway there- but I did ding 30! Yep, I grinded from 28 to 30 on the ogres in Duskwood. Got ganked by a 34 UD Mage and then had a 60 Guildie who was in the area camp the hell out of him. Ahena ran RFC twice and is now level 15. My twink went from 5 to 8. I finally got all the way through Gnomer. Unfortunately, the hat I wanted from him didn't drop. I am looking forward to level 40 and getting my mount; but I'm not sure I'll have the money! When I hit 30, the spells I needed to buy cost a total of 13g. I only had 4, so right now I'm in debt of 9g. I skilled tailoring up to 213-- and I was going to get master tailoring, but you have to be level 35. /cry.

http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=9492 <---- Leet Phat Loot I wanted

Something of no importance...

4.09.06

Haven't updated in a while. Well, I got to play this weekend; but I really didn't have fun. I played quite a bit of WSG and I expect to be a corporal on tuesday. As a priest, I made a flag cap in WSG, so that was pretty funny. Everyone was joking around, saying I could tank against these hordies we were playing. I went to gnomer once but our group slowly broke up. Grinded from 28 to 28 1/2 in Duskwood off of the ogres. I would post screenshots, but again-- they're at my dad's house. I managed to play my hunter on WW and got him to level 14. Had a guildie (yay Pod People) run me through RFC so now I've got some pretty nice greens on him. I made a NE Rogue on Mug'thol that I plan to twink out when I actually start making money. Right now, Xelare is sitting with about 60s. -_- The twink is level 4, X is 28 and Ahena is 14. Yeah, I know-- if I played only one character I'd level much quicker... well... too bad. The Pod People are great and I'm really enjoying hunter.

Dings, Guild and Gnomer-- Oh My!

4.5.06

I haven't played since this last weekend-- but I didn't put a new post in this last weekend either. I haven't any screenshots (they're all on my dad's computer) but I thought I'd post to let you know the blog didn't die. Okay, first: situation with the guild. FS disbanded and went into Chronic Crew. After a few days it felt that they weren't very helpful and not too many people were around my level. I went off in search of another guild and ended up joing <ghosts> (*coughplug*ghostsofironforge.com*cough*). They're a very cool group of people whom I enjoy grouping with. I actually got into the guild when I ran gnomer and asked if I could join our tank's (Airiya) guild. She got an invite sent my way and done deal. That leads to Gnomer... Ugh. Over the past few levels, Gnomeregan quests have been coming into my log by the pound. I think I had 7 quests just for Gnomer. I went for my first time a little low at 26 and wiped. I've run it a few more times but haven't managed to reach Thermaplug. We did manage to reach Vicious Fallout and he dropped-- what else, the Acidic Walkers! Although they're ugly-- they've got good plusses. I need to finish the quest "The Grand Betrayal" so I can get the Civinad Robes (which are only a slight upgrade from the Corsair's Overshirt I'm still donning a good 10 levels after I received it). Xelare is now a 28 Priest. I usually don't talk about Ahena-- but I will. For those that don't know, Ahena is my horde character on Whisperwind whom I started for the sole purpose of getting into The Pod People. Now an amazing level 13 Tauren Hunter, I recently dropped the role of Herbalist/Alchemist for two reasons: 1) The guild has a lack of engineers. 2) Engineering sounds fun and I've never tried it. I originally took Herb/Alch because of the +15 Herb skill Taurens get passively... but that didn't interest me too much. Long post today... tough.

Meh.

3.25.06

Got Ahena to level 9... woohoo? The wand finally dropped and I narrowly avoided a ninja rogue to get it (he "accidentally" rolled need like he had been all night). Done with vc. I had a 60 crash me and a few other people through stockades. That's a very short instance! Nothing of interest dropped in there-- nothing. Something very cool happened though: a blue dropped outside of an instance. Just grinding to 24, a 21 murlock dropped the magefist gloves. They're sitting in the AH now seeing what price they can fetch. ^_^ What else? Oh! Went into Blackfathom Deep. Hated it. That place is much too big. So now I'm sitting at 24. Been questing out in the wetlands since raptors and crocs are skinnable. Our guild may merge with another (chronic crew) to become Chronic Stand soon... I'll keep you updated as that situation progresses.

Some Random Pictures!

Full VC Run

3.15.06

It's about 2am right now. I just finished a full, thorough run of VC. Got the head and got... THE STAFF OF WESTFALL. Yes, I did. Some green items and stuff like that but sadly-- the defias chestpiece dropped from cleef. I'll start by saying this-- this blog will chronicle my... trouble in WoW. I, Xelare, am the guild master of Final Stand. I play on the Mug'thol PVP server. At the time of writing this, I am a lvl 18 Night Elf Priest.
Now that that's out of the way-- I'll actually post:

Today (March 11) I got from 15 to 18 in a few hours. I did the defias brotherhood quest line up to the very end, yet I still need VC's head. I ran deadmines at 16/17 (leveled in instance) this morning and that was... okay. We wiped a few times, but once we got into a rhythm; we took it all in stride. From Gilinid, I rolled on and won the [Lavishly Jeweled Ring], so that really made my day. I was originally running the instance for two reasons: XP and to get the [Staff of Westfall] reward at the end of the Defias Brotherhood quest line. I also had my hopes up of getting [Cookie's Stirring Rod]. Here's what happened: We went through the instance all fine and good all the way up to the ship. Myself and an accompanying druid managed to die on the ship and so we figured "Just run back to the ship, right?" WRONG. By then, everything had respawned. So that kind of ruined our VC run, but I got a level and some nice gear:

[Lavishly Jeweled Ring]
[Gold-Flecked Gloves]
[Bright Boots]

*edit: I forgot to mention that I have a character on whisperwind (Ernok), who is an orc warlock. I started him to get into The Pod People; but I don't play him much.
